HEB Help End Hunger Fundraiser |

Each year HEB hosts a Help End Hunger fund-raising campaign for the Food Care Center. Customers and HEB partners both participate. This year they raised a total of $6000 in order to assist us in standing in the gap for families who are hungry. Eddie Garcia, the "father" of food pantries throughout Texas and Mexico, came to Killeen to present the BIG check to Ann Farris, co-director of the Food Care Center. At the cost of 14 cents per meal, this $6000 will provide 42,800 meals.  . |

The Food Care Center in Killeen, Texas provides food, clothing, and household items to clients in need at little, or no cost them.  There is a constant and growing need in our community for these services. For 20 years the Food Care Center has met these needs with care and compassion, fulfilling the mission of "standing in the gap". Food is provided to our customers Tuesday through Friday. Hours of operation are 9:00AM to 1:00PM, with extended hours on the first and third Friday evening from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Food is provided to individuals, families, organizations, churches and community service workers based on need.

Dodge Country Food Drive - Success!! |

The food drive and fundraiser at Dodge Country last Saturday, August 2nd, was a success. We gathered in more than 1000 pounds of donated food and $100 in cash. The Gold Wing motorcycle riders have additional cash for us and want to continue their efforts to raise both money and food for us, as the year unfolds. That is more than okay with us. |
